Each 5 ml of oral solution contains Potassium Citrate BP 1.5 g and Citric Acid Monohydrate BP 273.425 mg, equivalent to Citric Acid 250 mg.

For the symptomatic relief of dysuria associated with mild urinary tract infections, particularly cystitis.

Adults, including the elderly, and children over 6 years: 10 ml of Potacit® solution three times daily after meals. Children under 6 years: 5 ml of Potacit® solution three times daily after meals.Potacit® solution should be diluted in a glass of water (250 ml) and may be followed by additional water if desired.

Mild nausea and occasional vomiting may occur due to gastric irritation.

Contraindicated in cases of hyperkalemia, renal dysfunction, ventricular arrhythmias, and known hypersensitivity to Potassium Citrate or any other ingredient.

This solution provides symptomatic relief only and is not an antibacterial. Effective antibacterial therapy should be co-prescribed. Use with caution in patients with renal or cardiac dysfunction.

Concurrent use of potassium-containing or potassium-sparing medications may lead to hyperkalemia. May also interact with cardiac glycosides.

No adverse effects are anticipated at the recommended dose when used solely for initial symptomatic relief. Treatment with this solution is adjunctive to antibacterial therapy for urinary tract infections.

Overdose may result in nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, and symptoms associated with hyperkalemia and metabolic acidosis.

Store at a temperature not exceeding 30 ºC in a dry place. Protect from light.
